JLT Restaurant Awards 2019: Meet the finalists! (Part 1)
Revealed: The finalists for the Best Healthy, Best South Asian, Best Streetfood, Best Shisha, and Best Indian categories in the #JLTdiningAwards2019
Online voting for the
2019 JLT Restaurant Awards closed on 31st October 2019 and over 15,000 JLT
residents, office dwellers, and visitors voted for their favourite Jumeirah
Lakes Towers restaurants, cafes, and bars.
In the run-up to the awards ceremony on Monday, 25th November at La Vue, Pullman Hotel JLT, we’ll reveal the finalists, category by category. Today, we’ll reveal the “Best Healthy”, “Best South Asian”, “Best Streetfood”, “Best Shisha”, and “Best Indian” categories.
The “Best Healthy” category featured 14 entries this year, nine more than last, and attracted 928 valid votes. Congratulations to Ananda Bhavan Restaurant, Little Erth, and HAYZ – Healthy & Yummy Zone – they all made the shortlist in the #BestHealthy category!

Our “Best South Asian” category is aimed at restaurants serving food from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. This year, it was one of our smaller categories with 138 valid votes recorded. Congratulations to Little Lahore, Truck Adda Restaurant, and Mughaliya Darbar – they all made the shortlist in the #BestSouthAsian category!

The “Best Streetfood” category is always one of our most popular categories and featured 16 entries and attracted 952 votes. Congratulations to Zawyet Maryam, Ananda Bhavan Restaurant, and Streetery – they all made the shortlist in the #BestStreetFood category!

“Best Shisha” was a new category for 2019 and featured four entries and attracted 159 votes. Congratulations to Own Cafe, Healey’s Bar & Terrace, and Baldwin Café, who all made the shortlist in the #BestShisha category!

|
The “Best Indian” category is traditionally one of the largest and most hotly contested JLT Dining Awards categories. This year, it had 14 entries and attracted an amazing 6,512 votes! Congratulations to Kulcha King, Ananda Bhavan Restaurant, and 800 Thali for making the #BestIndian shortlist!
