JLT Restaurant Awards 2019: Meet the finalists! (Part 2)
Revealed: The finalists for the Best Bar, Best Brunch, Best Cafe, Best Chinese, and Best European (Licensed) categories in the #JLTdiningAwards2019
Online voting for the
2019 JLT Restaurant Awards closed on 31st October 2019 and over 15,000 JLT
residents, office dwellers, and visitors voted for their favourite Jumeirah
Lakes Towers restaurants, cafes, and bars.
In the run-up to the awards ceremony on Monday, 25th November at La Vue, Pullman Hotel JLT, we’ll reveal the finalists, category by category. Today, we’ll reveal the “Best Bar”, “Best Brunch”, “Best Cafe”, “Best Chinese”, and “Best European (Licensed)” categories.
The “Best Bar”
category featured seven entries this year and attracted 844 valid votes. For
the first time since we started the JLT Dining Awards in 2016, the finalists
aren’t just “the usual suspects” J
Congratulations to [ubk] – Urban Bar & Kitchen, Healey’s Bar & Terrace, and McGettigan’s JLT – they all made the shortlist in the #BestBar category!

Our “Best Brunch” category is open to licensed and unlicensed restaurants and, this year, featured seven entries, which attracted 908 valid votes. Congratulations to La Cantina Café & Restaurant, McGettigan’s JLT, and [ubk] – Urban Bar & Kitchen – they all made the shortlist in the #BestBrunch category!

The “Best Cafe” category is for all the cafes and coffeeshops in JLT. It’s usually one of our larger categories and this year had eleven entries which together received 840 votes. Congratulations to Own Cafe, La Cantina Café & Restaurant, and Bystro Deli JLT – they all made the shortlist in the #BestCafe category!

“Best Chinese” is usually a smaller, but nevertheless very popular category, which, this year, had six restaurants running in it and attracted 450 votes. Congratulations to Via Delhi, Streetery, and Asian Wok, who all made the shortlist in the #BestChinese category!

The “Best European (Licensed)” category is for fully alcohol licensed restaurants serving food from European countries and, in 2019, had four entries attracting a total of 209 votes. Congratulations to Couqley French Bistro, Mythos Kouzine & Grill, and The Cavendish Restaurant for making the #BestEuropeanLicensed shortlist!
