Revealed: The three most popular entries in the “Best Sweet Tooth” and “Best Newcomer” categories of the 2018 JLT Restaurant Awards
Online voting for
the 2018 JLT Restaurant
Awards closed on 31st October 2018 and over 9,000 JLT residents,
office dwellers, and visitors voted for their favourite Jumeirah Lakes Towers
restaurants, cafes, and bars.
In the run-up to
the awards ceremony
on the 26th November at Nara Pan-Asian Restaurant, we’ll reveal the
finalists, category by category. Today, we’ll reveal the “Best Sweet Tooth” and
“Best Newcomer” categories.
The “Best Sweet Tooth” category was the final publicly voted category in the 2018 awards. Traditionally, it’s also the last category we reveal, because it’s all about desserts and sweet endings to fine meals. Congratulations to Il Donaccino, The Cake Lab, and Yalla Samosa – they all made the shortlist in the “Best Sweet Tooth” category!

The “Best Newcomer” category was open to all restaurants which opened their doors in JLT in the past twelve months. It was also one of the two judges-awarded categories and our expert judging panel deliberated for a fair while before coming up with this year’s finalists – all of which, they felt, made an above-average impact on the neighbourhood. Congratulations to Vietnamese Foodies, El Mostacho, and Nara Pan-Asian – they all made the shortlist in the “Best Newcomer” category!
